Empire-style tester bed has arched headboard with cut-out concave corners and scroll ears; side and foot rails with molded top and bottom edges; posts with plain tapered square upper sections and lower sections with carved ornamentation and rectangular paneled bases; short square feet with flaring carved top; and tester frame attached to posts. Tester has flat top and molded cornice. Carved ornamentation includes gadrooned molding at top edge of headboard; large central shell on top of headboard above carved oval cartouche surrounded by garlands and swags; acanthus leaves, foliage, and stop fluting on posts; acanthus leaves at corners of foot and side rails; and brackets on cornice.
