Description

Earthenware serving platter with purple transfer-print pattern "Canova". Central scene depicts a large urn with classical figures in the foreground, a gondola on a waterway in the mid-ground and classical buildings in the distance. Border pattern has a large urn and scenic vignettes alternating with floral reserves. Manufactured by Thomas Mayer, Cliff Bank Works, Stoke-Upon-Trent.
