Design drawing titled "Desk of Dark Oak in Billiard Room" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown; plan of top is also provided. Renaissance Revival-style desk has one rectangular case;with hinged slant front; shallow recessed shelf above case supported by two scrolled brackets and a center column; carved acorn drop pendants on bottom corners of case; vasiform pedestal support; and a cross-shaped base with carved scrolled arms.. Desk has elaborate carving including intricate moldings on shelf edge and slant-front lid; foliate scrolls and rosettes on shelf brackets; palmettes, swirled fluting and acanthus leaves on pedestal; and foliage and scrolls on base. Slant-front lid and sides of case have scenes of sailing vessels; there is no indication of whether these scenes are painted, inlaid or carved. Title, design notes and "Geo. Eastman" are handwritten on drawing. Notation refers to George Eastman of Rochester, NY.
