Rectangular, horizontal formal still life sketch with a two-handled urn of baluster form resting on a table-top; a spray of foliage symmetrically flows from the urn, and a small bird rests on the top center sprig. On either side of the urn, dark, lotus-like plants appear to grow from the table (or ground). On either side of these stalks the image is enclosed by two male heads in profile, whose forms are composed from blowing grasses; at the base of the image in ink is the inscription: "Rachel Prickitt, 29th May 1783"
