Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau of Mahogany" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown; plan of top is also provided. Tall narrow bureau has slightly bowed front; overhanging top with ovolo front corners; backboard; six drawers with rosette pulls and key escutcheons; reeded columnar front stiles with carved capitals; straight skirt; and tapered cylindrical feet with casters. Rectangular mirror with arched crest is attached to bureau top by two tapered reeded supporting arms with turned finials. Title, design notes, "Made for Miss Ames 35476" and "11294" are handwritten on drawing.
