Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau of Mahogany" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown; plan of top and partial side detail are also provided. Bowfront bureau has overhanging top with ovolo corners and molded edge; backboard which extends partially on sides and has concave ends; five drawers in a three-over-two arrangement; reeded columnar stiles with carved capitals; straight skirt; and short round feet with casters. Rectangular mirror with arched crest is attached to bureau at backboard by two supporting reeded columnar arms with turned finials. Title, design notes, "For Miss Ames 32965" and "11952" are handwritten on drawing.
