"Bureau of Mahogany"

Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau of Mahogany" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown; plan of top is also provided. Chippendale-style bureau with oxbow-shaped front has overhanging top with molded edge; four drawers in a graduated arrangement; bail handles, bat wing backplates and key escutcheons on all drawers; molded stiles; straight skirt with molded edge; and short cabriole legs with carved brackets and ball-and-claw feet. Title, design notes, "For Stock" and "Detail No 12357 / Oct. 2 1908 F. E. J." are handwritten on drawing. F. E. J. refers to Francis E. Jackson, a draftsman employed by A. H. Davenport Co.
