Description

Design drawing titled "Bureau of White Mahogany" rendered in pencil on trace. Front view is shown; plan of top is also provided. Bowfront bureau has overhanging top and molded edge; shallow backboard; five drawers in a three-over-two arrangement; round pulls on top drawers and bail handles on lower drawers; square stiles; straight skirt; and short carved feet. Oval mirror with horizontal orientation has narrow frame and is attached to backboard by two tapered columnar supports with turned finials and carved acanthus leaves above a reeded section. Title, design notes, "Mr. Joshua Crane Jr. 31663" and "11922" are handwritten on drawing.
