Neoclassical-style rectangular chest-on-chest has upper case with flat top; molded and carved cornice; center rectangular plaque with painted kylix on frieze; two hinged cupboard doors with recessed panels on doors; painted bellflowers on stiles; elaborate painted decoration on doors including garlands, swags, scrolls, vases; and an oval cartouche; and a molded bottom edge. Lower case has four drawers in a two-over-two arrangement; bail handles and key escutcheons on two lower drawers; painted baskets with foliate garlands on top drawer fronts; square stiles with painted bellflowers; straight skirt; and tapered square feet. Title, design notes, "For Mrs. E. D. Godfrey / N. Y. 16794 45454" and "195" are handwritten on drawing.
