Description

Design drawing titled "Arm Chair of French Walnut" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown. Arm chair has tall rectangular back with straight crest; curved arm with carved foliate motif on scrolled handholds; carved scrolled arm supports; rectangular seat; tapered square legs with carved tops; tapered turned feet; plain side stretchers; and front stretcher with central carved shell and foliage. Back and seat are fully upholstered; seat has ruffle at bottom edge; and arms have upholstered pads. Title, design notes; "Made for C. Vanderbilt Room 4 28072," "J. B. W. / March 1 - 1907" and "11502" are handwritten on drawing. Companion side chair is CC010.001.006.019.002.
