Description

Design drawing titled "Revised Dining Chair of Mahogany" rendered in ink on trace. Front view is shown. Side chair has tall upholstered back with metal tack trim along front edges and fringe along bottom edge; ornately carved scrolling crest; embroidered coat of arms on back; over-the-rails upholstered seat with single row of metal tacks along bottom edge; straight seat rails; raked tapered square rear legs; and cabriole legs with scrolled acanthus-carved knees and scrolled feet. Title, design note and "det. 2440" are handwritten on drawing.
