Neoclassical-style side chair has deep rectangular crest rail which flares at back; painted, carved or inlaid swag and bowknot motifs on crest; pierced splat with three vertical slats between semicircular lunettes at top and bottom; stiles with scrolled tops; upholstered demilune seat with single row of metal tacks along bottom edge; straight seat rails with carved corner blocks; raked rear legs; and tapered round columnar front legs with twist carving at top, cuffs and tapered cylindrical feet. "772" is handwritten on drawing.
