Description

Design drawing titled "Light Chair Painted White" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Neoclassical-style side chair has oval back; pierced splat with flaring ribs and rectangular plaque; curved stiles; seat with serpentine front, over-the-rail upholstery and single row of metal tacks along bottom edge; raked rear legs; and tapered square front legs with spade feet. Carved decoration on back and splat includes swags, bellflowers and foliate motifs which have been touched with gilding. Title and one design note are handwritten on drawing.
