Design drawing titled "Arm Chair in Library of Mahogany & Brass" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Empire-style arm chair has rectangular upholstered back; pediment above crest rail with center rectangular tablet flanked by scrolls; straight crest rail with rosettes in corner blocks; fluted stiles; straight lower rail; straight arms with scrolled brackets at back, deeply upholstered arm pads and rounded ends with rosettes; curved molded arm supports with scrolled bases above rectangular blocks; deep upholstered seat with bowed front; molded seat rails with rounded front corners; raked tapered rear legs; and tapered round columnar legs in front with fluted base and casters. Appied brass ornaments may include: foliate motifs on pediment tablet, crest rail, and front seat rail; rosettes on stiles, arms and arm supports; anthemions on front corner blocks; and fluted bases on front legs. Title is handwitten on drawing.
