Description

Design drawing titled "Chair of Cherry Cane Seat & Back" rendered in pencil on trace. Front and side views are shown. Arm chair has molded crest rail with rounded back and which flows into continuous arms with foliate-carved scrolled handholds; molded curved arm supports; caned curved back and sides; caned seat with straight front and rounded back; molded seat rails with rosette-carved front corner blocks; tapered fluted legs with hourglass turnings above; and cuffed ovoid feet. Title, design notes, "Made for C. Vanderbilt 28120" and "11503" are handwritten on drawing.
