Neoclassical-style arm chair has deep rectangular crest rail with rolled top edge; curvilinear stiles under crest which flow into arms, side seat rails and legs; narrower lower back rail; arms with rolled handholds; continuous arm supports; upholstered seat with single row of metal tacks along front edge; molded front seat rail; raked tapered square rear legs; and reeded tapered round front legs with cuffs and cylindrical feet. Title, design notes, and "Boston Medical Library / April 4 - 1901 J. P. H." are handwritten on drawing.
