Design drawing titled "Odd Chair" rendered in ink on trace. Perspective view is shown. Chair has hexagonal flat seat with two sides being wider than the others; six short legs with cylinder, ovoid and reeded cylinder sections; four round stretchers with four incised round spindles above; and front upper round stretcher with three balls above, followed by four shaped spindles surrounded by larger spindles and lower incised round stretcher. Chair back has two tall columnar stiles with foliate carved tops; rectangular crest rail with shaped top and carved foliage; center square panel enclosing carved foliate quatrefoil within a diamond; six shaped spindles below; and incised round lower back rail. Two shorter sections of spindles and columnar stiles attach to the taller stiles. Title is handwritten on drawing. Stamped on the drawing but partially cut off is the following: "To be returned to / A. H. Davenport / 96 Washington St. . Boston, Mass."
