Description

Untitled scrapbook. Scrapbook has red fabric cover and is held together by twine laced through six eyelet. The number "1" is handwritten on spine. Scrapbook contains 50 pages. The bulk of the materials are clippings from periodicals and catalogs which document a variety of chair designs. According to the table of contents, the album includes the following styles: Egyptian, lacquered, English Gothic, Restoration, Charles II, Jacobean and Charles II, William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale, Sheraton, Hepplewhite, Adam, caned and pointed, Phyfe, Windsor, Italian, French Renaissance, Spanish, Louis XIV, Louis XV, 16th century, Louis XVI, wing, and easy chairs. Reproductions are included as well as period pieces.Many of the clippings overlap one another in a tiled arrangement..
