Description

Untitled scrapbook. Scrapbook has red fabric cover and is held together by twine laced through six eyelets. Scrapbook contains 50 pages. The bulk of the materials are clippings from 19th century and 20th century periodicals, catalogs, and magazines, such as "Arts and Decoration," "House and Garden," "Country Life," "Good Furniture," and "The American Architect." The clippings depict Asian and Asian-inspired objects such as screens, vases, and panels. This includes table screens, lamps, vases, wine jars, incense burners, mirror frames, statues, guardian lions, tea trays, and coromandel screens. There are also clippings of residences decorated with Asian art and furniture. Most of the pieces are from the 15th century through the 20th century. Also included are depictions of ancient Egyptian and Pompiaan mosaics and other objects.
