Untitled scrapbook. Scrapbook has red fabric cover and is held together by twine laced through six eyelets. Scrapbook contains 50 pages. The bulk of the materials are clippings from 19th century and 20th century periodicals, catalogs, and magazines, such as "Arts and Decoration," "House and Garden," "Country Life," 'Good Furniture," "Furniture Age," "The Architectural Forum," and "The American Architect." This majority of the clippings document interiors, almost exclusively from private residences in England and the United States. Each page has many layers of clippings. Many clippings include the name of the owner and architect as well as location. The names of several known clients of A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, and Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport are present; however, it has not been determined if any of the furnishings depicted in the clippings are the work of the firms. These clients are: Henry Forbes Bigelow (Boston, MA); Columbia Grapaphone Co. (New York, NY); Earle Perry Charlton (Westport Harbor, MA); Mrs. Leonard Converse Hanna (Cleveland, OH); and F. W. Woolworth (Glen Cove, NY).
One clipping depicts the drawing room in Green Alley, the Gloucester, MA residence of artist Cecilia Beaux. An incomplete list of other locations shown is as follows: Hursley Park (England); Chateau Blois (France); Cronkwell Grange (Wiltshire, England); Ashorne Hill House (Leamington, England); Carrington House (Whitehall, London); Christ Church Parish House (Hartford, CT); President's House at Columbia University (New York, NY); and the Palace of Charles Beyerle (Cairo, Egypt). Loose between pages 18 and 19 is a real photograph postcard of the Royall House in Medford, MA.
