One of many views related to the early United States and its history that appear in the online exhibit "Patriotic America."The View is of The Woodlands Estate of William Strickland. It is also known on other dinner and dessert ware shapes. From its significant beginnings around 1770 which included what was likely the first monumental portico in Philadelphia to its neoclassical reconstruction between 1786 and 1789, William Hamilton’s (1745-1813) house at The Woodlands in Philadelphia stands as one of the greatest American domestic achievements of the eighteenth-century.
