Description

Design drawing titled "Parlor Table" rendered in pencil. Perspective view is shown. Rectangular table has overhanging top with serpentine molded edges on all sides; deep apron with inlaid patarae; six slender legs with ring, ball and cylinder turnings; flattened disk feet; lower shelf with serpentine edges on all sides; and five turned spindles at each end of shelf that form arches at top and attach to apron. Table top and apron may be of a figured wood or have painted designs. Handwritten on drawing is title and "For Mrs. Henry Keyes/ for S. Hayworth [?] / 1883." Mrs. Henry Keyes refers to Emma Frances (Pierce) Keyes, widow of investor Henry Keyes; her Boston, MA home at 88 Commonwealth Avenue was built in 1881 and was designed by Peabody and Stearns.
