This is a collection of 163 glass lantern slides of exterior and interior views; renderings, plans, elevations, and sections; and models of different buildings by a variety of individual architects and architectural firms. The majority of the slides are of buildings on which the architectural offices of Ralph Adams Cram and partners worked. The collection consists of three series: 1) Architectural offices of Ralph Adams Cram and Partners, II) Works by other Architects or Architectural firms, and III) Miscellaneous buildings and Unidentified buildings. Dates refer to the date of construction of the buildings, not the dates of the slides.

Ralph Adams Cram (1863-1942) was an American architect noted for his collegiate and ecclesiastical buildings, many of which were in the Gothic Revival style. He was a fellow of the Boston Society of Architects, the American Institute of Architects, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, among others.
During his career, Cram was in a series of partnerships with Charles Wentworth, Frank Ferguson and Bertram Goodhue, all located in Boston, Massachusetts. The last iteration in his lifetime was known as
Cram and Ferguson, which continues to the present as Cram and Ferguson Architects.
Cram was also head of the Architectural Department of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for seven years, as well as an author of many books and publications about architecture and religion.
The collection is arranged in three series as follows:
