Design Drawings -- Watercolors

Description

This subseries consists of 135 design drawings, the vast majority of which are rendered in watercolor with a small number being in pencil and/or colored pencil. Drawings are beautifully executed with a high degree of detail; it is presumed that the drawings were used for client presentations as well as general marketing purposes. Drawings depict a wide variety of furnishings manufactured by A. H. Davenport Co. and Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. Interior elevations are also included. Types of furnishings include cabinets, desks, secretaries, tables, chairs, settees, sofas, beds, dressing tables, mirrors and other items such as hat stands and flower boxes. Very little identifying information is shown on the drawings; however, model numbers are occasionally present. Very few customer names are noted.
