Design Resources

Description

This subseries consists of four scrapbooks, a French design dictionary and a portfolio of photomechanical prints of Italian Renaissance furnishings. Three of the scrapbooks contain photocopies of design drawings of chairs, stools, sofas and phonograph cabinets manufactured by Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. The remaining scrapbook contains clippings from periodicals and catalogs of English furniture. This scrapbook and the remaining two items were the property of either A. H. Davenport Co., Irving and Casson, or their successor Irving and Casson - A. H. Davenport Co. It is assumed that all items were part of the company library and were used as references and sources of design ideas.
