Description

Black-and-white photograph of two arm chairs and a three-part folding screen. One arm chair has straight crest which rolls backwatd, straight stiles and lower back rail; upholstered back, seat and arm rests; arms with scrolled handholds and colunmnar supports; straight seat rails; raked square rear legs; and tapered front legs with foliate carving at top and cuffed feet. Second arm chair has flattened arched crest rail above a caned back; straight lower back rail; straight arms which roll outward above caned sides; molded curved arm supports with carved volutes at ends; upholstered seat; straight seat rails; rectangular front corner blocks with floral decoration; and molded tapered square legs with block feet. Tripartite folding screen has arched top and painted Neoclassical motifs on each section. Handwritten notes on photograph include three A. H. Davenport Co. detail numbers: 5167, 0-342 and 5767.
