Description

Black-and-white photograph of three swivel arm chairs. The first chair has a high rectangular back; deep crest rail with rounded top corners; shaped arms with scrolled handholds and continuous curved arm supports; upholstered back, sides, and arm pads; rounded upholstered seat; single row of metal tacks along upholstered edges; narrow plain seat rail; and pillar with swivel mechanism atop four low curved legs with casters. The second chair hasa high rounded back with wide continuous crest rail and stiles; straight lower back rail; upholstered back; flat shaped arms with rounded ends; curved arm supports; rounded upholstered seat; single row of metal tacks along upholstered edges of back and seat; narrow plain seat rail; and post with swivel mechanism atop four curved legs with casters. THe last chair has a rounded upholstered back with crest rail flowing into continuous arms with scrolled handholds; freestanding fluted vasiform arm supports; upholstered seat with curved front; single row of metal tacks outlining edges of upholstery; narrow plain seat rails; and post with swivel mechanism atop four low curved legs with casters. Handwritten notes on page include wood types and A. H. Davenport Co. detail numbers 372, 314 and 697.
