Description

Design drawing titled "Mahogany Console Table and Gold Mirror" rendered in watercolor and pencil. Front view is shown; side view is also provided. Neoclassical-style rectangular console table has overhanging marble top; straight apron with carved beaded molding on bottom edge; straight rear legs; front legs with large acanthus-carved scrolls at top and foliate carving at base; bracket feet with foliate carving; plain side stretchers; and front stretcher with molded edges. Rectangular mirror is attached to table top at its base and has gilded frame with broken scroll pediment at top; carved and beaded exterior and interior moldings; carved fruit basket at center top flanked by scrolling foliate garlands which extend down sides; and foliate scroll feet. Title is handwritten on drawing. Embossed in lower left corner is "Return to / A. H. Davenport Co. / 96 Washington St. / Boston, Mass."
