The text reads "The extreme neatness, constant application and undeviating rectitude which have during the whole season distinguished the conduct of Miss Nancy Stephens have secured to her the entire approbation and sincere affection of her friend and instructress H. Swan. H. Swan & T. Roses School, Medford, November 21, 1812." The card has an embossed flower border. The card verso has handwritten text which reads "Daughter of Thomas Stephens of Beverly?"
