Description

One small black paper album with 55 black and white photographs and 2 newspaper clippings. Photographs are small (mostly 2 ½ x 4 1/8”). Album of people, family groups, automobiles, pets, sailboats, and horse drawn carriages. Mostly unidentified but there are some pencil markings on the back of loose photos identifying Sedgwick, Sed's father, Barbara's home, and a cabinet photo of Alice Welch Kellogg. Of particular interest are the many pictures of old cars dated 1915-1919, catching lobster with a string, sailing for Nantucket on the Sloop Nomad, and children with dogs and horses. Two newspaper clippings; one an obituary of Alfred Reed dated October 31, 1924 and one about Clara Nisbet, her photography and the New England Press Association annual newspaper contest, dated August 1970. A photograph marked "Clara" is in the album dated 1973. Possibly Clara Nisbet. One negative of couple sitting on a couch removed to folder.
