White/yellowed kid; bound with cream silk tape; trimmed with large pale blue/cream rosette; originally had narrow elastic ties; rounded square toe; square throat; 3-1/8" vamp; center back seam; sole has narrow waist with darkened channel; 1-3/4" heel covered with white kid; lined with discolored white cotton.

Walk Right In 11/98-3/99 In June 1866, when Susan Ward wore this pair of slippers to marry Lyman Clark in Roxbury, they were typical wedding footwear--flat slippers with pale blue rosettes. After using them as wedding shoes, Susan Clark had white kid-covered heels added to make them more fashionable for evening wear.
