Each shaker has a colorless glass base which is cylindrical, tapered, and panelled; shakers are inset with shoulders and a bulbous ring below domed, gilt-plated silver plate or perhaps rather brass caps; the caps have elongated piercings above a band of palmettos and have a cypher at the center top.

Engraved on the tops of each cap is a monogram or possibly just decorative devices which are difficult to make out.
