"Tree Houses"

Description

Materials relating to the book titled "Tree Houses" written by Royal Barry Wills and published in 1957 by Houghton Mifflin Company. The book contains a short story of two young boys who build and modify a tree house over a number of years. This is followed by detailed instructions for building a variety of tree houses. The book is illustrated with numerous drawings and sketches by Wills and Charles H. Crombie; Leon Keach assisted with the technical diagrams.

The materials include numerous early drafts of the story which is much longer than the published version. Also included are texts with editor's notes, original drawings and sketches (most of which are not in the published book), and copies of drawings and sketches.
