GUSN-3271
Section of feather edge sheathing which covered a boxed in stairway, probably in a front entry. The artist, Moses Eaton, applied stencils/ tempora in red and green on a faint pink background, directly to unpainted pine boards. The outlines of the stair ends can still be seen on the backs of the wide old boards. At some date long after the original construction, the stenciling was applied to the mellow pine finish. [NFL 1989, p.106] There are two beveled edges.
