Description

Porcelain bowl with hand-painted, polychrome decoration. Interior border: red scale ground with gold rosettes separating scrolled panels of red flower sprigs with black stems. Central decoration: enamel sprays of roses and other flowers. Exterior: polychrome enamel Mandarin court scenes of Chinese figures in the landscape and scenes of birds alighting on branches; all scenes in irregularly shaped scallop-edged medallions; background: orange and black diaper with gold highlights; border around base: black band with red rosettes; gold band; red wave-and-dot band.
