One of many views related to the early United States and its history that appear in the online exhibit "Patriotic America."The building shown still stands today, the third to be called City Hall. The year 1803 witnessed the laying of the cornerstone of the third City Hall in the park. The building was completed in 1812 and occupied the previous year. Several potters made views with New York City Hall: Stevenson, Clews, Ridgway, Stubbs, R. Stevenson, Jackson, and Meigh. Stubbs also produced this view on his Spread Eagle Border Series.
