A=bodice, B=skirt, C=textile fragment Bodice (A): Lavender moire w/ purple velvet trim; Basque bodice w/ standing, piped collar w/ fragile tulle ruffle. Center front panel of purple velvet w/ lavender piping. Long sleeves w/ purple velvet ruched cuff w/ lavender lining & tulle ruffle. Sleeves & back are of lavender moire; basque is boned & has 15 purple cut glass buttons mounted on gilt brass; darted & lined w/ white linen (?) twill. Inner waistband w/ hook & eye; pointed at front & flared back; weighted at back. Purple velvet piping around hem. Skirt (B) = front panel of purple velvet w/ lavender piping and gathered at various points; purple velvet ruffle at each side w/ purple velvet band around hem. Lavender moire insert between purple ruffle & front panel & entire skirt back. Box pleats at back w/ train; lined w/ crinoline & cotton; bustle created by elasticized buckle & strap closure over crinoline bustle. Waistband lined w/ cotton twill; has hook & eye closure; pocket on right side.
