Circular green marble inkwell [a] with cover [b] and removeable glass inkwell [c]. Circular base has fluted sides. Interior has three small holes outlined by a brass ring and a central ink holder also rimmed in brass. Cover is inset with five cameos, four on lid and one on finial outlined with brass. Cameos are made of unidentifiable material (ceramic?) in different colors - white, black, and shades of brown. Cameos depict historic scholarly figures.
