Description

Needlework picture. Oval needlework mourning picture depicitng a young woman in Grecian style gown. She is placing a wreath of flowers on an urn. A plaque on the urn is inscribed "Memento Mori". The urn stands on a plinth with an illegible inscription. A large weeping willow tree planted to the left of the plinth arcs over the entire scene. Needlework is all done in silk floss in satin stich and french knots. Silk satin ground. Rectangular with visible selvedge on right hand side. Shows evidence of having been mounted in a rectangular wooden frame.
