Paper label: ""Mrs. Trecothick died in 1766 aged 82 [?]. She brought these plates from England. They were probably a part of the housekeeping articles at the time of her marriage about 1640 and are unquestionably 200 years old at least this 1st January 1849."" Later hand on label: ""Taken from the family records-C.A."" Second label: ""The above was written by Mrs. James Trecothick Austin in 1849 (C.A.). This note was written by Catharine Austin (C.A.) 1926.""
