Description

This two-piece dress consists of a dress (A) and pelerine (B)made from matching striped silk. The textile is a cream-colored ground with pink and blue woven stripes alternating with two foliate bands and a band of red and green-colored floral sprays. The dress is cut on grain with a bateau neckline trimmed in net lace and short sleeves trimmed with two rows of green satin ruching. A green satin bow trims the front of the padded and boned bodice, which ends in sharp points at center front and back and is closed with laces at the center back. The original laces are intact. The skirt is set with cartridge pleats all around waist and a pocket on the right side. The matching pelerine (B) is lined and trimmed with pale blue satin. The cape closes with a hook and eye at the neck.
