Description

Child's dressing gown, dark green cotton with red figures. Lined with red cotton material with narrow facing. Belt and trimming of other figured cotton material. This was made about 1850 by Mary Clifford Greene of Providence, Rhode Island for her first nephew, Charles Potter. Young Charles was the son of Mary Clifford Greene's sister Arazelia Gray Greene and Charles Potter, Jr. Mrs. Greene was the aunt of Mrs. J.M. McGann.
