FAN (A): Carved and pierced ivory sticks; white paper leaf printed with silver scrollwork, butterflies and birds, surrounding a central printed and painted medallion with six figures in Renaissance-style costume, with a dog, a castle, and a man playing a lyre; reverse side of fan is of white paper printed with a silver medallion with a potted plant. BOX (B,C): Covered with embossed white and gilt paper, with gilt ovals alternating with gilt spiral bands; domed top.
