Description

Layer of wallpaper (.1) with border (.2). Removed from the second floor right rear room of the Shirley-Eustis House, Roxbury, Massachusetts. Two fragments of wallpaper (.1) with a circular swirl pattern roller-printed in yellow, blue, white on gray ground. "Wm. H. Mairs & Co. / 1836" printed in selvedge. Wallpaper border (.2) printed with pattern of leaves and flowers spilling over a stripe resembling ceramic tile blocks. Paper is embossed with square pattern.
