Description

Needlework picture worked on paper. Front of picture is a silk and wool embroidered weeping willow arching over a printed and appliqued silk urn inscribed "G.W. Born Feb. 22, 1732. Died at Mount Vernon, Dec. 14, 1799. Aged 68". The bottom of the plinth is inscribed "The just shall be had in everlasting rememberance." Plinth is sitting silk floss embroidered grass. Picture is edged with applied grosgrain ribbon. Back of picture has a printed portrait of George Washington bordered in textured black paper printed to resemble crepe? With two red striped borders inside the black border. Pencil inscription at base "QH Harry".
