.1A) Military steel sword; blade with blueing on both sides; obverse with engraved and gilt eagle decoration with "E Pluribus Unum"; reverse with liberty cap on pole; gilt brass hilt with graduated line of five balls on hand guard; ebony grip with squared gilt brass finial; .1B) Leather scabbard bound with gilt brass at tip and mouth; ringed medial band with leather strap.
