"Automatic Apple Parer" patented by John D. Seagrave of Worcester, Massachusetts in 1854. Apple is speared on a metal shaft with three sharp tines. The shaft is turnd by a handle, assisted by metal gears, by operator. Adjustable paring blade on a moveable, spring-loaded arm presses against turning fruit, removing its skin as it is turned against the blade. Wood base.
