Description

Although ID'd as carpeting and carpeting was made like this, this fragment could just as well be a piece of blanketing. Rectangular piece of early "common" carpeting woven in birdseye twill weave. 3-1/2" wide navy blue stripes intersecting to form windowpane checks with 1" wide stripes of "prussian blue" and white linen creating narrow windowpanes within on olive-tan ground.
