Label

"Cherished Possessions": Believed to have been ordered for the marriage of Nathan Appleton and Maria Gold in 1806, this dessert service was second to none at the time. The set was ordered from the Worcester Royal Porcelain Works of Barr, Flight and Barr, whose wares were used in royal households in England and imperial palaces in Europe. The Appletons special-ordered the dessert service to be decorated with the Appleton family crest, an elephant's head with a snake encircling the animal's trunk.
