Desk, Drop-Front. Mahogany with dark and lightwood inlay. Rectangular top. Comprised of two sections. Base: four square tapered legs; front legs have light wood stringing, cuffs and bell flowers, "baton" inlaid stiles flanking the shaped apron are edged with light and dark wood rope banding; below the full width drawer two small drawers flank the hemispherically shaped center knee hole; the veneered drawer fronts with original oval Hepplewhite brasses are inlaid and edged with light wood stringing; the front of the moulded top edge is inlaid with rope banding. Top: the veneered fall front of the inset case has a rope inlaid oval containing two oval brasses and a brass keyhole surround; the interior is fitted with seven graduated drawers with string inlay which flanks a cubbyhole; the flat top is edged with rope inlay.
